PURPOSE:To determine cholesterol easily, accurately, and directly, by using cholesterol dehydrogenase depending upon NAD(P) obtained by cultivating a bacterium aerobically. CONSTITUTION:A reagent for determination consisting of cholesterol dehydrogenase depending upon NAD(P) collected from a culture solution or culture mold of a bacterium such as Nocardia sp. No Ch2-1 (FERM-P 6217), Alcaligenes sp. No 4 (FERM-P 6216), etc. belonging to the genus Nocardia, Alcaligenes or Proteus, gwoing under aerobic conditions, and NAD or NADP is reacted with a specimen such as serum, etc., and the increase in formed NAD(P) is determined by an absorbance at 340nm. |
