The automotive steering gear comprises a gearbox containing a driving member meshing with teeth in a sector. The latter is mounted on a shaft in bearing bushes with eccentric bores on either side, by which it is adjusted. Annular flanges at the free ends of the bushes are peened into grooves in the housing to prevent turning, forming humps. Circlips secure them in the axial direction.
