Program-controlled washing machine for the washing and rinsing of laundry has heating body in the bottom section of the washing container for heating the soln. The supply of water is controlled for a normal level via a pressure monitor and the circuit for the heating body is interrupted during the rinsing phase. A rinsing level using below the normal level is for the rinsing phase. The program control device has switch step(s) which enable a switching over or on to a pressure monitor or an additional pressure monitor contact for regulation of the rinising level. ADVANTAGE - Water consumption is cut by redn. in the level in the rinsing phase.
