Thieno(2',3':6,7)cyclohepta (1,2-c)pyridazinones of formula (I) are new: where R is H, halogen or 1-4C alkyl; Ar is aryl or heteroaryl, opt. substd. by one or more halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, nitro, amino, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl or 2-5C alkanoylamino groups; the dotted line is an optional double bond. Specific (I) is eg. 9-(4-chlorophenyl) -2-methyl-5,6,6a,7-tetrahydro -4H-thieno(2',3':6,7)-cyclohepta (1,2-c)pyridazin-8(9H)-one; 2-bromo-9-(4-chlorophenyl) 5,6-dihydro-4H-thieno(2',3':6,7) cyclohepta (1,2-c)pyridazin-8(9H)-one; and ten others.
