<p>The pupillometer comprises a casing (2) with a front face (2a) which corresponds, when in position, to a frame of a pair of spectacles. The pupillometer has a main axis (3) perpendicular to the front face (2a) and equidistant from the eyes of the subject. A horizon plane, perpendicular to the projection plane, passes through the main axis (3) and the eyes of the subject. In the casing there is arranged a master lens (4) and a point light source (7) at the focus of the lens and on the main optical axis (3). The point source (7) creates, at the centre of the eyes of the subject, corneal reflections. The lens (4) gives virtual images of these corneal reflections and these virtual images form real objects for an objective (5) which forms a pair of real images on a reading scale (6) formed from one or more photo-sensitive charge-transfer strips. The sequential analysis of the device (6) locates the strip elements where the images are formed by the rows of these elements.
