Disc brake with enhanced braking effect - uses reaction force to increase brake pressure

The improved disc brake has two wheel brake cylinders (14,15) on each calliper. The larger dia. cylinder (15) is linked to a hydraulic strut (10) which braces the disc brake against the wheel supports (3). When the brakes operate the reaction force operates on the hydraulic strut, increasing the hydraulic pressure in the larger cylinder. The strut is attached to the wheel support by a metal tag (12). The disc brake mechanism is mounted on an arm (8) with pivot mounting about the wheel axle and with the free end attached to the hydraulic strut. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple mounting of vehicle disc brake, uses reaction force to increase braking effect.
