This system uses refrigerants instead of water, with boiling points lower than 0 degrees Celsius. Refrigerant circulates within a closed circuit at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure. The circuit is divided into a high pressure and a low pressure area. In the high pressure area, liquid is heated in the boiler, boils and its pressure rises. In the low pressure area, liquid vapour is cooled in the condenser, liquefied, and its pressure is reduced. The difference between low and high pressure constitute the force that will drive the steam engine. The refrigerant after the condenser goes to a storage canister containing a floating device activated liquid pump. When the level of the liquid rises, the pump pushes the liquid into the boiler to start a new operation cycle. |
