PURPOSE:To secure such a sealing device that is excellent in installability, sealability, durability and costing by providing a seal body with a seal lip and an independent foaming material-make elasticity imparting ring installed in a void being partitioned off from a side face at the pressure side of the seal body, a fixed side of the seal lip and an installing groove of the seal body, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A seal body 1, projecting in the axial direction, has a seal lip 2 coming into contact with an opposite moving surface 11, and consists of materials of synthetic rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, synthetic resin or the like. An elasticity imparting ring 3 consisting of independent foaming materials including those of synthetic rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, synthetic resin or the like is combinedly installed in a void being partitioned off from a side face 4 at the pressure side of the seal body 1, a fixed side 7 of the seal lip 2 and an installed groove 12 of the seal body 1. Even in the case where the seal body 1 is constituted of the synthetic rubber excellent in elasticity, tensile force against the opposite moving surface 11 of the seal lip 2 can be adjusted by an interference value or the like of the elasticity imparting ring 3 consisting of the independent foaming material, and that the seal body 1 can be assembled after assembling the elasticity imparting ring 3 first in the installed groove 12. |
