PURPOSE:To produce the titled molded article economically and advantageously, by melting a solid arom. polyamide composed of a specified repeating unit by heating, and molding it by extruding it through a discharge port before moldability is lost while solidifying the extrudate by cooling. CONSTITUTION:A solid arom. polyamide composed of at least one repeating unit selected from units of formulasI-III (wherein the groups of formulas II and III are present in a substantially equimolar ratio when both groups are present; R, R', R'' are each a bivalent group; at least 70mol% of the sum of R, R' and R'' is arom. group) is molten by heating and molded by extruding it through a discharge port within a period of time within which the moldability of the polyamide is not lost, while solidifying the extrudate by cooling. In this way, the melt molding of the arom. polyamide which has been heretofore difficultly melt- molded, becomes possible economically and advantageously. |
