The invention relates to a fireplace which includes a hearth and a convection portion. The fireplace is provided with a water jacket and closable flaps. To achieve effective heat transfer from the hot flue gases into the water located in the water jacket of the fireplace, a radiant heat exchanger is arranged in the convection portion in the fireplace according to the invention. The radiation surfaces of the radiant heat exchanger are directed in the direction of the water jacket surfaces of the fireplace. |
