PURPOSE:To decrease the dispersion of electrode distance through a separator caused by the dispersion of electrode thickness to obtain a battery having good current performance by compressing electrodes when a battery is assembled. CONSTITUTION:When a battery is assembled by combining a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2, a separator 3 which electronically insulates the electrode 1 from the electrode 2, a positive cover 4, a negative cover 5, and a sealing gasket 6 which insulates the cover 4 from the cover 5, then seals the inside materials, outside force is applied in the direction forcing to compress the electrodes 1, 2 through the separator 3. The electrodes are formed thicker than those after assembled, and compressed to a given thickness while they are assembled. The battery is assembled with both electrodes 1, 2 closely contacted through the separator 3. The dispersion of electrode distance is decreased and the battery having good current performance can steadily be obtained. |
