A radial tire for two-wheel or four-wheel motor-driven vehicles having one or more carcass plies (3) folded back around the bead cores. In each sidewall there is a carcass, bead cores, a tread band and a belt structure between the tread band and the carcass and a reinforcement ply (7) axially external to the carcass ply and having textile cords inclined at an angle of 30 DEG to 60 DEG relative to the radial direction. The reinforcement ply is folded back axially inwardly from the outside to the inside around the bead core at one end and extends radially outwardly to the zone of the maximum width of the tire, to be spaced apart from the belt edges by a distance not greater than 10% of the section height of the tire. <IMAGE> |
