PURPOSE:To increase charge-discharge cycle life by using manganese oxide obtained by acid-treating CaMn2O4 as the positive active material of a lithium secondary battery. CONSTITUTION:Manganese oxide obtained by treating CaMn2O4 with an acidic solution of pH5 or less to elute calcium from the CaMn2O4 is used as a positive active material. The CaNn2O4 is synthesized by mixing hydoxide, oxide, carbonate, or halide of calcium with hydoxide, oxide carbonate, or halide of manganese, then heat-treating the mixture. Charge-discharge cycle life of a lithium secondary battery is remarkably increased. |
