In a plate heat exchanger of the cross-flow type having a plurality of heat transferring plates arranged to delimit trough-flow ways interchanging with each other for two fluids, it is, in order to avoid mixing of the two fluids and to increase the rate of heat transfer, proposed to provide seals 2, 3 between the heat transfer plates 1 and a housing 4 surrounding them, and connecting means 13, 14 between which labyrinths are provided at 13', 14', into which a gas may be introduced at a higher pressure than the pressure of either of said fluids. <IMAGE> |
