The invention relates to a device designed to obtain a supplementary mechanical compensation of the front clearance in toothed wheel pumps equipped with a hydraulic compensation system. According to the invention, the device consists of a wedge which, under the pressure of a spring, pushes a ball on the slanted surface of the pump's floating bushing; on the contact surface, between the wedge and the pump body, there is a channel connecting to the aspiration pressure in order to increase the normal force of blocking the wedge.
