PURPOSE:To enable a water pump to be firmly mounted, by integrally mounting a cylinder sleeve body, having strength larger than that of a cylinder block main unit, to its inside and integrally forming a water pump mounting part in said cylinder sleeve body. CONSTITUTION:This cylinder block B has a cylinder block main unit 1 formed by casting from an aluminum alloy. Said main unit 1 comprises a cylinder part 11, providing space 4 for containing a cylinder sleeve body 2 opening its upper and bottom, and a skirt part 12 connecting with the bottom part of said cylinder part. And the cylinder sleeve body 2, consisting of high wearing resistant cast iron, is integrally mounted into the containing space 4 of said main unit 1 by cast molding of internal chill or the like when the main unit 1 is cast. And a pump mounting part 15, forming a pump chamber 16, suction port 17 and a delivery port 18 of a water pump, is integrally formed in one end corner part in the lengthwise direction of the sleeve body 2, enabling the water pump to be firmly mounted. |
