The subject of the present invention is a method of inserting and/or of erasing curves and/or elements of curves in a drawing produced by computer, the said computer including a memory in which a data structure is stored describing the data of the drawing in which the insertions and/or the erasures take place, in the form of a planar map, characterised mainly in that it includes the following steps: - location of the face of the card in which the origin of the curve to be inserted is found, the origin having as parameter t0; then, iteratively: - determination of the intersections between the arc with parameters ti, tn of the curve to be inserted and all the curves carried by the edges of the contours of the face; - insertion of the arc having as parameters ti, ti+1 into the face in question, recording it in memory in the data structure.
