PURPOSE:To effect plugging work on the tube plate of a heat exchanger by a method wherein an accurate positioning is effected. CONSTITUTION:In case the heat transfer tube 5 is damaged, plugging is effected on the upper and lower tube plates 1 to form a new pawling. In the lower tube plate 1, the plugging device is inserted into the water chamber 2 below secondary side through a descending tube 7 to effect a work. The vertical degree and the circumferential position of the plugging device for heat transfer tube are set by a position setting unit 14 for the device and the same device is fixed to the tube plate 1 by a positioning unit 16 while a multi-head unit 21 is approached to the hole of the tube plate by an arm elevating unit 17, thereby facilitating the positioning and increasing the accuracy thereof. The plugging work of the heat transfer tube may be effected by the rotation of the multi- head unit 21, in which various kinds of equipments, necessary for the plugging operation, are arranged concentrically with respect to the rotating shaft thereof. The arm unit 20 is made by a multiple structure capable of expanding and contracting, therefore, the arms thereof are received into an arm receiving frame 19 perfectly when the device is hung down through a descending tube 7 whereby the accessibility thereof may be improved. |
