PURPOSE: To obtain the subject monofilament suitable as a fishing line by incorporating a flavoring agent into a homo (co) polyamide, spinning, cooling, stepwisely drawing, thermally treating, treating with an oil, and then taking off on a support. CONSTITUTION: This flavored synthetic monofilament based on a homopolyamide or a copolyamide is obtained by incorporating one or more flavoring agents into a homopolyamide or copolyamide such asε-caprolactam polymer, spinning the melted product of the polyamide through a spinning head having a dye, cooling the obtained monofilament to a temperature of 20-35 deg.C in water, further heating the monofilament, partially drawing the monofilament at 85-95 deg.C in water, further drawing the monofilament at one or two steps at a temperature of 170-200 deg.C, thermally treating at >=170 deg.C, treating with an oil and then taking off the monofilament on a support.
