PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an anode absorption type lead-acid battery by specifying the content of antimony in the lead or lead alloy of an anode grating, a plate group connection part and a polar column, and applying a quick cooling process immediately after the completion of the plate group connection part. CONSTITUTION:The content of antimony as impurities is kept equal to or less than 50ppm in lead or lead alloy constituting an anode grating 2, a plate group connection part 1 and a polar column 4. In addition, the plate group connection part 1 is quickly cooled, upon completion. The aforesaid connection part 1, therefore, is hardly subjected to corrosion even in a severe oxygen atmosphere during the use of an anode absorption type leadacid battery, and becomes free from a fracture. consequently, the reliability of the anode absorption type lead- acid battery can be remarkably improved. If the content of antimony exceeds 50ppm and the plate group connection part 1 is slowly cooled upon completion, the desired effect cannot be obtained. |
