PURPOSE:To obtain a dentifrice composition having excellent antiinflammatory effects to prevent inflammation of the gum of periodontitis, etc., comprising an extract containing hederagenin extracted from the pericarp of Sapindus mukurossi Gaertn. and/or whole grass of Akebia quinata Decne. as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:A dentifrice composition comprising an extract containing hederagenin shown by the formula having excellent antiplasmin activity, antikallikrein activity and antitrypsin activity as an essential component. The extract is obtained by using the pericarp of Sapindus mukurossi Gaertn. and/or whole grass of Akebia quinata Decne. in a raw state, a dried material or a dried and powdered material thereof and by extracting the pericarp of Sapindus mukurossi Gaertn. and/or whole grass of Akebia quinata Decne. etc., with a hydrous alcohol or water as a solvent under heating and filtering the extracted solution. The filtrate is concentrated under reduced pressure to give an ointment essence or the essence is dried further to give dried powder. The ointment essence or the dried power is blended as a component of dentifrice. |
