A co-vulcanisable elastomer compsn. consists of A) known polymers and usual rubber additives and B) a co-vulcanisable polymer mixt. of pts. wt. a) 10-60 hydrogenated butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer contg. per 1,000 C 25-100 nitrile N and less than 35, pref. less than 2 C=C, b) 10-60 fluoropolymers and c) a copolymer obtd. by co-polymerising acrylic monomers with silicone or organosily cpds. contg. differentially reactive gps. in the molecule. Bb) is pref. crosslinkable by peroxide. Bc) contains reactive vinylsiloxane gps crosslinkable by peroxide. The compsn. contains 1-10 pts. wt. organic peroxide as crosslinking agent per 100 pts wt total polymers. USE/ADVANTAGE - As elastomer for composites with metal parts in space or aircraft parts, for gaskets; the compsn has better processing properties than known ones esp. for highly stressed and complex gaskets.
