One drive sprocket (15) has its axis (14) in the projection plane (18) and the other sprocket (24) is offset in front of the projection plane. The two axles (23, 14) are linked by meshing gears and the second axle has axially disengaging gears to separate the drive. When a fresh magazine is pushed onto the slide drive the gears on the second axle are disengaged, allowing the magazine to the pushed close up to the back of the first magazine. This ensures continuous slide showing. The drive to teh second axle is taken up again once the manual drive of the second magazine has been lifted. ADVANTAGE - Simple slide loading control; can take succession of magazines.
