Car radio receiving traffic broadcast - uses recorded text for traffic information supplied when radio is switched off

The car radio incorporates a traffic broadcast receiver (7) which remains in operation when the radio is switched off. The broadcast receiver (7) is coupled to a text device (9) allowing a recorded text corresponding to the received traffic information to be provided when the car radio is switched on. Pref. the text device (9) uses an endless magnetic tape loop, or a speech IC with a capacity matched to the max. duration of the traffic information. Each previous traffic information text is erased upon reception of a subsequent traffic broadcast. USE - For providing updated traffic information for driver.
