PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal printing head from being abraded due to friction with an ink ribbon, by covering with a heat-resistant organic film one side of a metallic film provided with through-holes, and filling the through-holes with a heat-fusible ink comprising a coloring agent and a heat-fusible organic substance. CONSTITUTION:The ink ribbon 11 comprises a stainless steel sheet 14 one side of which is entirely covered by a heat-resistant resin film 15 such as a fluororesin film having a thickness of 0.1-10mum. The sheet 14 has a thickness of about 20mum, and is provided with cylindrical through-holes 12 with a hole diameter of 35mum in a staggered pattern at a pitch of 64mum, the holes 12 being filled with a heat-fusible ink 13 prepared by mixing a heat-fuisble oil or fat consisting of paraffin wax with a dye Kayaset KR in a weight ratio of 3:1. The thermal printing head 7 is disposed in contact with the fluororesin film 15 side of the ink ribbon 11, and a recording paper 6 set on a platen 5 is disposed in contact with the side on which the through-holes 12 filled with the ink 13 is exposed, of the ink ribbon. |
