PURPOSE:To sufficiently absorb impact energy by forming an easily deformed part on a supporting body by which an air bag device is supported in an automobile, so as to deform the easily deformed part due to the impact force, when a passenger hits strongly an air bag cover that is a component member of the air bag device. CONSTITUTION:On an opening port 22 formed on the upper part of a lower panel 12, a front part of a passenger seat of an instrument panel 10, an air bag cover 14 which is a component member of an air bag device 11 is arranged so as to cover the opening port 22. On an instrument panel reinforcement 58, two pieces of an air bag mounting bracket 64 are mounted along the car width, and a mounting bracket 70 mounted on the side surface of an air bag case 38 is fastened by a blot 69 on the edge of an upper projection 64A of one edge of the bracket 64 forked into two, while the edge of a lower projection 64B is fastened to the lower panel 12 through a bracket 68. On the central part and on the upper projection part 64A of the air bag mounting bracket 64, a transparent hole 66 is formed as an easily deformed part, in a roughly oval shape. |
