PURPOSE:To inexpensively obtain a light-weight safe mirror by superposing a thin transparent resin film with Al vapor-deposited on one side upon the back side of a transparent acrylic resin plate to form a mirror body of desired curved shape and adhering a backing to the back side of the body. CONSTITUTION:Transparent polyester resin film 5 having 10-20mum thickness is fed continuously, and Al4 is vapor-deposited on one side by a known means. Film 5 is superposed upon the back side of acrylic resin plate 3 having 2-3mm. thickness, superior transparency and superior strength, and it is press bonded by a suitable method. A curved plate like a divided sphere is then formed by pressing plate 3, and it is cut circularly. Adhesive 6 such as synthetic rubber is applied to the back side of film 5, and backing 7 such as reinforced plastics, glass fiber or curved metallic plate is adhered to manufacture curved mirror body 2. Since plate 3, Al4 and film 5 are united to one body, the pressing is easily carried out, and they are hardly peeled off. Even if the mirror is broken, film 5 prevents scattering. |
