PURPOSE: To provide a socket requiring no insertion force used for an electric part by superimposing the intermediate and uppermost plates having socket openings by means of cams on the lowermost plate having at its socket openings contacts each constituted of a leg and two prongs. CONSTITUTION: Three plates 12, 14 and 16 have lead insertion openings 114 adapted to be vertically aligned when these plates are superimposed on one another. The lowermost plate 12 has at each opening a contact constituted of a leg 36 and two elastic prongs 40 and 42 separated from each other, which is adapted to project into the opening of the uppermost plate 16 when the plates 12, 14 and 16 are superimposed on one another. The rotation of an actuator 18 separates the prongs 40 and 42 situated in the openings of the plates 14 and 16 from each other by means of a contact member, in which state the lead of an electric part is inserted thereinto. The rotation of the actuator 18 to the original position after the insertion brings the prongs 40 and 42 approaching each other so as to contact with the lead. That materializes a socket requiring no insertion force used for an electric part. |
