The transmission system uses progressive scanning of the video camera image, to obtain a line iamge after sampling and filtering. The quality of the transmitted television image is enhanced by transmission of an auxiliary signal in the vertical blanking intervals, obtained from the difference between the original signal at the output of the filter and a prediction signal. Pref. the difference signal has a limited bandwidth and it may be subjected to a time compression prior to its transmission. ADVANTAGE - Enhanced quality of received image.
