The additional stoplight is fitted to the rear of the vehicle alongside the conventional stoplights, or in other suitable positions. It is operated by braking forces over a set level, either connected directly to the brake pedal switch or to an inertial switch. The inertial switch operates the lights w.r.t. the retardation. The direct connection to the brake pedal switch incorporates a time delay. This ensures that the additional lights operate during long braking periods. ADVANTAGE - Improved safety, following traffic can distinguish between normal- and strong braking.
