AMINATION OF CARBONYLS Organic compounds containing at least one carbonyl group are reductively aminated to minimize the formation of hydroxylated side product by the use of at least one of (i) an amination promoter, (ii) water removal, (iii) lower hydrogen partial pressure during the formation of an imine or enamine intermediate or (iv) primary or secondary amine reactant to form an imine or enamine intermediate.
