The quantity of liquid in a container is measured by pneumatically influencing a liquid level dependent gas vol. (4) above the liquid (2) in the container (1). The gas vol. is continuously varied by periodically pumping (7) a relatively small, constant gas vol. in and out. The resulting periodic press. change, which depends on the magnitude of the gas vol., is measured and used as a measure of the liquid quantity. USE - Esp. for measuring quantity of liquid in vehicle fuel tank.
