At least one temp. sensor contains a quartz oscillator of temp. dependent frequency whose number of oscillations per defined time is measured to enable temp. computation. A signal modulated according to the number of oscillations is transferred for remote evaluation. The number of oscillations occurring in a defined period is subtracted from a known value. A signal corresp. to the difference is transferred to the evaluation point. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for remote monitoring of heat consumption at a number of positions with reduced noise susceptibility and no information loss during data transfer over large distances.
