Water course grille-cleaning mechanism - has scraper working against rake and coupled to hinging discharge chute below

The cleaning mechansim removes floating rubbish from a grille in a watercourse, and comprises a rake protruding between the grille bars and movable up and down. Above the water level is a scraper, caused to hinge by the upward movement of the rake and thus remove the rubbish from it into a chute below, leading to a hopper. The chute moves between a position extending towards the grille and in the path of the rake and one further away, allowing the rake to pass. The latter position(A') is the normal one for the chute(5), which is couplied to the scraper(4) by a component, typically a rope(6) running round a pulley(7), so as to swing temporarily into the first position(B').
