PURPOSE:To enhance the safety and maneuverability by allowing a control unit to judge the degree of throttle opening or accel. opening, target car speed, car or engine speed, selected range, on-off signal for constant car speed control, and the condition of shift command, and by adding the function to give a command of optimum gear position to a control program. CONSTITUTION:A system as per the present invention includes a car speed sensor 11, throttle sensor 12, shift position switch 13, car speed constant control switch 14, crank angle sensor 15, control unit 16, transmission 17, and indication/ alarm function 18. The control unit 16 is fed with signals about the car speed, the degree of throttle opening, shift position, car speed constant control, and engine revolving speed, that permit use of existing sensors. In this control unit 16 is incorporated a two-dimensional shift command map consisting of the degree of throttle opening and car speed or engine revolving speed, and the gearing of the transmission 17 is shifted in compliance with the gear shift order selected with this map. |
