PURPOSE:To provide a deodorizing resin compsn. which has an excellent deodorizing effect, does not cause discoloration and gives deodorizing packaging materials suitable for use in packaging various smelly articles, by blending a thermoplastic resin with a deodorizing component composed of a ferrous salt and citric acid (salt). CONSTITUTION:80-90pts.wt. ferrous salt (e.g., ferrous sulfate) is mixed with 15-5pts.wt. citric acid and 5-1pt.wt. citrate (e.g. sodium citrate) to prepare a deodorizing component. 0.1-20pts.wt. deodorizing component is mixed with 99.9-80pts.wt. thermoplastic resin (e.g., polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride) to obtain a desired deodorizing resin compsn. The compsn. is molded into a packaging material. Strongly smelly materials such as fish, pickles, wet refuse, etc., are packed into said packaging material. Since a bad smell emitted is absorbed by the packaging material itself, a strong bad smell is not diffused into surrounding air, when the package is opened. |
