PURPOSE:To obtain an encapsulated toner securely fixable to a base material with low pressure without causing thickening of the thin lines of characters and an image by forming the toner comprising a core material made of a colored aqueous material and smaller in volume than a shell, and incorporating air bubbles in the capsules. CONSTITUTION:The core material is smaller in volume than the shell in a normal state, and made of the aqueous colored material containing the air bubbles in the capsules. The aqueous colored material containing a foaming agent dissolved in it is mixed with a monomer for encapsulating, a radical polymerization initiator, and a surfactant, if necessary, an electric charge controller by stirring them to form a W/O emulsion, and this is dispersed into an aqueous medium to obtain a [W/O]/W emulsion, and it is polymerized under foaming conditions of the foaming agent, thus permitting the toner to be fixed to the base material with low pressure, and the thin lines of characters and the image to be prevented from thickening and being fixed in this state when the capsules are broken and the core material is dispersed and scattered. |
