PURPOSE:To provide the titled fuel gas capable of reducing the amount of residual gas unburned in the cylinder, of reducing fuel consumption rate and of enhancing thermal efficiency, comprising a mixed gas of LP gas and methanol in specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:A fuel gas prepared by adding methanol to LP gas (e.g. propane gas and/or butane gas) is introduced in a liquefied state into a gasifier to convert into a mixed gas made up of 1-20vol% of methanol and 99-80vol% of LP gas, thus obtaining the objective fuel gas. Said mixed gas is mixed with an air followed by feeding to a gas engine to operate the engine.
