PURPOSE:To protect a ceramic lining layer from the thermal stress in roll shafts to be engaged with both ends of a hollow hole of a roll body by forming margin parts to engage the roll shafts with the roll body in a hollow cylindrical shape. CONSTITUTION:In roll shafts 20, cavities 25 are formed in parts to be engaged with ends of a hollow hole of a roll body 10, namely, margin parts 21 to engage, and the rigidity of the margin parts to engage is low because of the hollow cylindrical shape. The temperature is changed at the time of practical use, and the thermal stress is generated by the difference of the thermal expansion quantity of a metal hollow material 11 and a ceramic lining layer 12 with the change of the temperature. The end parts of the body 10 are the weakest part under the influence of the thermal stress, but the thermal stress is absorbed for relaxation by the elastic deformation generated in the margin parts to engage, and the crack initiation of the ceramic lining layer 12 is prevented. The metal hollow cylindrical material 11 and the ceramic lining layer 12 are adhered to each other with an adhesive layer 13. |
