The pipe bending machine uses independent bending heads on both sides of the clamping head plus placer arms which pivot round an axis parallel to the pipe and are fitted with end tongs to hold the straight parts of the pipe while the heads bend it. Each arm is swung back from pipe-hold to pipe-receiving settings by its own motor as the bending head approaches and are served by respective magazine slides which are program-controlled to move parallel to the central clamping head and have aligners for the ends of the pipe being bent. The placer arms (10) should be mounted on the slides (4) and adjust toward their pivot axis (14) together with the slides. ADVANTAGE - Placer arms adjust to suit pipe length and ar mounted on program controlled magazine slides for correctly timed movement. |
