PURPOSE:To minimize occurrence of crosstalks at the time of reproduction, by recording an FM video signal by fH/2 offset carrier system, and recording an index signal which discriminate the difference between the offset frequency in a vertical retrace line period. CONSTITUTION:In the main track of discoid recording medium 51 an FM wave of a reducted and converted video signal and that of voice signal are recorded with an offset carrier of odd number times of fH/2. At the same time, the 1st and 2nd tracking signals having different frequencies are recorded in each horizontal retrace line period. Moreover, in the vertical retrace line period, the 3rd tracking signal is recorded. The 3rd tracking signal also acts as an index signal which detects offset amount of the carrier. Signals from a reproducing means 52 are given to filters 60, 61, and 59, and each tracking servo signal is extracted from the signals. The index signal extracted from the 3rd tracking signal is used for correcting the shifted amount of the carrier at a carrier shifting circuit 70. In this way, the pedestal level can be maintained constantly and crosstalk can be reduced. |
