PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce a mis-operation by displaying a bit mapping area similar to an edit pad at a prescribed part on a screen, and displaying an area and/or a point set on the edit pad in similar figure. CONSTITUTION:The UI controller 7 of a recorder main body 1 interprets the execution condition of image recording, and informs required information to every part of the recorder main body 1, and also, issues an instruction to switch a display picture, etc., to a user interface UI 2. The edit pad 3 of the UI 2 is the one used when the area is set, and a rectangular area and the area of free shape can be set. When an editing function accompanying by the setting of the area is selected by an input means 5, a rectangle 9 similar to the edit pad 3 is displayed on the screen 8 of a display device 4, for example, at the upper left part of the screen 8, and the rectangle is displayed at a part corresponding to a position instruction on the edit pad 3 by instructing the area for which edit is applied by using the edit pad 3. In such a way, it is possible to easily recognize what size of area is set at the position on an original, and to reduce the misoperation. |
