PURPOSE:To enhance offset resistance, fixability, and blocking resistance of a toner by mixing >=2 kinds of liquid emulsions of polymers different in molecular weight, adding a colorant and the like, and coagulating them to form particles of desired diameters. CONSTITUTION:This toner is prepared by emulsion polymerizing a mixture of polymerizable monomers, such as styrene and butyl acrylate to produce >=2 kinds of the liquid emulsions of the polymers different in molecular weight from each other, mixing them in a desired ratio, adding the colorant and/or a magnetic powder, and then, coagulating them to form the particles desired in particle diameter. The monomers are polymerized so as to form the polymerized particles having an average particle diameter of 20 - 400nm in each polymerized emulsion, and each emulsion is mixed so as to form the mixed polymers having a number average molecular weight of, preferably, 2X10<3> - 5X10<4>, and the colorant and the magnetic powder are dispersed into a desired dispersion medium so as to form the particles, preferably, having an average particle diameter of 5 - 500nm. |
