A 180 degree hybrid junction comprises an input (IN) and two outputs (OUT1, OUT2) being 180 degrees phase shifted with respect to each other. To achieve good amplitude and phase balances between the outputs in a broad frequency range, the hybrid junction comprises a signal divider 5 and two 90 degree hybrid circuits 6, 7 symmetrical to each other, one 6 of the circuits being arranged to cause a +90 degree phase shift of an input signal and the other 7 a -90 degree phase shift to produce two output signals being 180 degrees phase shifted with respect to each other. The divider and hybrid circuits can be made by microstrip constructions. The divider can be a Wilkinson divider (5, Fig 2) and the 90 DEG hybrid circuits can be Lange couplers (6, 7). <IMAGE> |
