PURPOSE:To detect radiation in real time with simple constitution by bringing a 2nd compound into contact with a 1st compound charged to the jacket of a microcapsule and causing coloration and discoloration. CONSTITUTION:Microcapsules 1 dispersed and carried in a base 2 have double structures wherein the 1st compound 4 is charged to the jacket 3. Then the structure of a decay type high polymer which is used for the jacket 3 breaks having the straight chain or side chain cut with radiation energy and when the charged compound 4 becomes liquid to ooze out, the 2nd compound applied over the carrying surfaces of the microcapsules 1 of the base 2 and the 1st oozing compound 4 contact each other to color and discolor. For the purpose, the device is laid or stuck on the wall or floor of, for example, a radiation field or fitted to a working suit for use, and consequently a radiation leak and exposure can be detected in real time to secure the safety of the operation in the radiation field.
