FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM ELECTROMAGNETIC VALVE CONTROLLED TYPE

The fuel injection system has a reference mode operating during starting. This provides a programmed amount of fuel without any risk of excessive exhaust emission. The programmed mode operates until the processor detects normal running. The fuel injection operates via a solenoid valve (20) which opens during the pressure pulses of the mechanical fuel pump. The starting mode operates as a series of opening pulses with the total opening time shorter than the pump pressure pulse. During normal engine running the injection pulses are computed with respect to torque, engine temperatuer, throttle setting etc.
