A locking device for a door turnably mounted on a safe or the like apparatus, the locking device including a permutation lock having a lock box having a plurality of tumblers, and a movable plate adapted to carry out locking activity, the movable plate being fitted with a locking plate at its fore end from which at least one locking rod extends to be inserted into corresponding hole on the safe or the like apparatus, the movable plate being formed with an engagement recess to which a locking bar is adapted to come in engagement when locking is effected, the movable plate being operatively connected with a lost motion to a lever plate by way of a combination of a slidable pin and a spring means disposed on the slidable pin. |
