The device comprises a cell 1 which contains a pressurised gas or mixture of gases, two end-plates 2 and four seals 3, two ports composed respectively of the optical components 4, 5 and 6, 7. Each of the pairs of optical components has a common spherical dioptric surface and forms a parallel-sided plate for the fundamental wavelength. The spherical dioptric surface of the component 5 has a maximum transmission for the fundamental wave and a maximum reflection coefficient for the 1st-order RAMAN-STOKES wave. The spherical dioptric surface of the component 6 has reflection coefficients which are different for the two waves. The fundamental wave is focussed in part to the focal point of the spherical dioptric surface. This wave seeds the stable resonator for the 1st-order RAMAN-STOKES wave, the resonator being formed by the spherical dioptric surfaces of the components 5 and 6 whose optical axes are coincident and parallel to the middle direction of the fundamental wave. The transfer device can be installed on the inside or outside of a laser resonator which produces the fundamental wave. The applications relate to ocularly-safe lasers or to systems with a scientific vocation. <IMAGE>
