PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for preparing cushioning materials throughout coil transfer process, ensure the prevention of damages to coils and permit reuse of the cushioning materials by winding the cushioning materials of synthetic resins around the packing paper of steel plate coil in such manner as to detachably fix the same to the packing paper. CONSTITUTION:Cushioning materials 2 are wound around a coil 1 and each end thereof is attached to coil packing paper with adhesive tapes 3. The cushioning materials 2 are formed by melting and shaping a plastic. The winding plate 5 of the cushioning materials is to be about 210 deg. when the adjacent coils are brought into contact with each other. If the adjacent coils are out of contact, the angle may be 100-130 deg.. The cushioning materials are attached around the outer periphery of the packing paper at the time of coil packing after production. The coils are thereafter handled in as-cushioned condition pending reception by the customer, whereby, in each process, the labor conventionally required for attaching the cushioning materials can be saved and the need for its preparation can be eliminated. The cushioning materials can also be recovered for reuse. |
