PURPOSE:To manufacture the high strength Al-Li series alloy having high strength and high elongation by incorporating specified ratios of Li, Cu, Mg and Zr into Al. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy contg., by weight, >2.80 to 4.00% Li, 0.80 to 2.50% Cu, 0.50 to 1.80% Mg, 0.08 to 0.15% Zr and the balance Al with inevitable impurities is prepd. In the Al alloy, sufficient precipitation treatment is executed and structure is homogenized to improve the workability and elongation, and suitable aging treatment is executed after superplastic forming, by which strength and elongation superior to those of a 7000 series Al alloy can be attained. |
